Electrostatic (Wet Paint)As in Powder Coating, Electrostatic coating uses an electrical charge. The items are grounded and the positive charge given to the paint is magnetically drawn to the surface to be sprayed. The coating will actually wrap around and adhere to the other side, creating virtually no overspray. But it does not need to be baked in order for it to be cured. The coating will dry within a few hours as it is a wet paint. It can be applied to almost anything metal or fiberglass resulting in a smooth even appearance. Manufacturers have made great progress in making wet coatings more environmentally friendly by the reduction of VOC emissions. |
